The existing building at 2635 Walnut St is an 100+yr old brick warehouse with exposed timber beams and columns, a partially enclosed mezzanine level, and three large skylights. More recently, the building was converted into office space. The current finishes are dated, lack coherency, and fail to take advantage of the dramatic volume and textures of the historic building. The design intent is to inject new life into the space by using sleek, modern materials that play off the rustic elements, renovate existing materials and surfaces, and to organize the spatial adjacencies and sequences in order to create a dynamic work environment for a growing tech company.
